Suit seeks records of 1970s child killings

DETROIT, April 28 (UPI) -- The father of a Michigan child killed 33 years ago has filed suit against state police for withholding evidence in his son's case, his attorney says.

Attorney David A. Binkley says Michigan State Police have not complied with a Freedom of Information Act request filed in January about a suspect in the 1977 slaying of 11-year-old Timothy King, The Detroit News reported Wednesday.

The boy was one of four Oakland County children whose killings in 1976 and 1977 remain unsolved.

Timothy's father, Barry L. King, said he believes his son was killed by Christopher Busch of Bloomfield Township who committed suicide in 1978 at the age of 27.

In 2007, a polygraph examiner testified under oath that Busch had been interviewed about the Oakland County killings, investigators said.

The state police detective in charge of the Oakland County child killer investigation has declined to comment on King's request.
