A Franklin County, Ohio, grand jury indictment returned Monday accused Lawrence A. Dibble, a former Wellington School theater director, of 20 counts of voyeurism and one count of sexual imposition, The Columbus Dispatch reported Tuesday.
Dibble, 41, also is accused of putting his hand up the skirt of an 18-year-old female student and fondling her as she rehearsed lines for a play between April-May 2009 at the school. The teen reported the incident to police in February and then wore a wire while confronting Dibble, who admitted his actions, the county prosecutor.
The private school Wellington told parents and alumni in a statement the a recent sweep of the facility by a security firm found no videotaping equipment.
A police investigation found Dibble installed a hidden camera at the school and surreptitiously recorded students between Aug. 1, 2002, and June 30, 2003.
In February, Dibble was charged with one felony count of gross sexual imposition after the police investigation began. That charge later was dropped.
Dibble, who did not have an Ohio teacher license, was theater director at Wellington since 1998. He was suspended after the initial charge in February and eventually fired. School officials said Dibble oversaw theater productions but did not teach, though students said he did, the report said.
