Man drove wrong way 11 miles before crash

ORLANDO, Fla., March 29 (UPI) -- Police said a man involved in a collision on a Florida interstate Monday had been driving the wrong way in the northbound lane for at least 11 miles.

The Florida Highway Patrol said witnesses first reported spotting Harry Brown, 62, of Astor, driving the wrong way on Interstate 95 at mile marker 240 and Brown crashed his 2007 Ford pickup truck into a 2001 Ford pickup traveling northbound at mile marker 229, the Orlando Sentinel reported Monday.

Brown was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and the driver of the second truck, Michael Lima, 20, of Fort Lauderdale, was taken to Parrish Medical Center in Titusville. Details of their injuries were not released.

The highway patrol said a blood test was performed on Brown and charges against him are pending.
