WASHINGTON, March 24 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama will sign an executive order Wednesday confirming restrictions on federal funds for abortion under the healthcare law, aides said.

The executive order reaffirming the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is consistent with the restrictions on using federal funds for abortion was part of the deal struck with anti-abortion Democrats in the House to help ensure passage of the healthcare bill signed into law Tuesday.

Thirteen House members and one senator were invited to attend the signing ceremony that will take place behind closed doors, the White House said.

Before he signs the executive order, Obama will meet with Sens. John Kerry, D-Mass., and Richard Lugar, R-Ind., as part of consultations with Congress on the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty. The closed-door meeting is rescheduled from Tuesday.

The president also is to discuss financial reform with Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, and Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., chairman of the House Financial Services Committee.
