CHICAGO, March 18 (UPI) -- A Minnesota man with felony convictions for burglary, drugs and lottery fraud is charged with pimping his wife of four years on Craigslist.
Clinton Danner, 32, was held in the Cook County Jail on $150,000 bail and was ordered not to contact his wife, The Chicago Tribune said Thursday. The Cook County Sheriff's office said Danner began offering his wife for sex across the country when she was pregnant and threatened to harm their 3-year-old daughter if she refused.
Danner met his wife at church when she was 17, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. He was arrested Sunday at a Holiday Inn in Chicago, three days before the couple's fourth wedding anniversary.
Authorities said the wife, who had no credit card or bank account, secretly telephoned a national sex-trafficking hotline seeking help. Danner initially began prostituting his wife in suburban Minneapolis but used Craigslist to arrange to send her to New York, Georgia, Washington and Illinois for sex, the newspaper said.
Danner is charged with felony pandering.
