Mother said Josh Powell threatened her

CHICAGO, March 12 (UPI) -- Attorneys for former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich are asking that his June corruption trial be put off until November, court documents indicate.
A request for postponement says a June 3 trial date does not give them enough time to properly prepare his defense, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.
The problem, the attorneys say, is that they must await a ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court concerning the "honest services" fraud charge leveled against the former governor.
The high court may strike down all or part of the statute that requires elected officials to perform their duties honestly.
In addition, Blagojevich's attorneys say the prosecution has recently turned over 33,000 new pages of evidence.
