ROSEVILLE, Mich., March 4 (UPI) -- Former Detroit Lions player Tommy Boyd is facing sex charges for an alleged sexual rendezvous with a teenage girl, authorities say.
Boyd, 38, is facing charges of first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct and accosting a minor for immoral purposes for an alleged 2009 rendezvous in Roseville, Mich., with a 15-year-old girl, the Detroit Free Press said Thursday.
The girl, whose identity was not released, testified in Roseville's 39th District Court Wednesday, that Boyd promised to pay her $5,000 to have sex with him on July 15, 2009.
The girl, now 16, alleges the former NFL player ended up paying her $200.
Boyd, a resident of Shelby Township, is facing additional allegations based on his past job as the track coach for Fraser High School.
Another young woman, now 19, alleges when she was a 16-year-old student at the high school, she carried on a year-long relationship with Boyd, The Detroit News reported.
The woman, whose identity was not released, said she and Boyd even had sex in a football room in the school in September 2006.
Boyd, a member of the Lions in 1997 and 1998, is expected to appear at a preliminary hearing on March 24.
