Some Girl Scout cookies not so tasty

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- A Kentucky company says some of the Lemon Chalet Creme Girl Scout cookies it produced for this year are edible but not recommended for consumption.

Little Brownie Bakers of Louisville, Ky., said on its Web site the smell and taste of certain packages of the treats differed from regular Lemon Chalet Creme characteristics, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said Thursday.

Oils in some of the products may be breaking down, Little Brownie Bakers said.

"The cookies are still edible, but are not recommended for consumption as they are not up to our quality standards," the company said in the online statement.

The not-so-tasty batches of cookies had not resulted in any reported illnesses and Girl Scout councils in possession of the cookies were notified, the Journal-Constitution said.
