WASHINGTON, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Conservatives gave former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney a standing ovation for predicting President Barack Obama won't win re-election.
"Barack Obama is a one-term president," Cheney told a cheering crowd at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington Thursday, CNN reports.
Cheney said conservatives have learned a lot about Obama in the year since he became president.
"We've learned that he is not going to govern from the center, we've learned he doesn't believe in American exceptionalism, and he is going to travel the world apologizing for this great nation."
The former vice president, introduced by his daughter Liz, was a surprise addition to the list of conference speakers.
"It's a remarkable time to be a conservative," Cheney said. "There are some great years ahead of us."
