SOUTH HADLEY, Mass., Feb. 4 (UPI) -- An education official in South Hadley, Mass., said some children with suspected links to a bullied teen's apparent suicide are not helping investigators.

South Hadley School Committee chairman Edward Boisselle said while nearly 30 kids have been contacted by South Hadley High School regarding the death of Phoebe Prince, 15, a number of those kids have failed to cooperate, The Boston Herald said Thursday.

"There have been in our investigation some kids on their family's -- or family's lawyer's -- recommendation that have not spoken to us," Boisselle said.

Meanwhile, a criminal investigation into the Jan. 14 apparent suicide of Prince is being led by Northwestern District Attorney Elizabeth Scheibel.

Boisselle said while some parents of South Hadley students are demanding results of the investigation, attempting to learn details of how Prince was bullied in the weeks up until her death has proven difficult.

"I apologize for what appears to be delays, sweeping this under the rug. It's a process. It's not an easy investigation," he told the Herald.
