Mexican quake felt in parts of California

SANTA ANA, Calif., Feb. 1 (UPI) -- The U.S. Geological Survey said a 4.4-magnitude earthquake off the coast of Mexico Monday morning was felt in parts of Orange County, Calif.

The Orange County (Calif.) Register said federal officials confirmed the quake did not create a tsunami, despite its strength and the fact it occurred beneath the seafloor on an unnamed fault off the coast of Tijuana, Mexico.
