BELLEVUE, Wash., Jan. 17 (UPI) -- A former Washington state beauty salon owner was sentenced to 13 months in prison for administering fake Restylane and Botox to customers, court records say.
Xin He, 46, of Issquah, who operated the Natural Beauty Salon in Bellevue, was found guilty of two counts of receipt and delivery of an adulterated device and one count of drug misbranding, the Bellevue Reporter said Saturday.
She is neither a physician nor a licensed healthcare provider, and so is not qualified to inject clients with wrinkle-removing drugs, the newspaper reported.
He treated a woman in 2004 with counterfeit Restylane, and another in 2008, injuring the women and causing them to seek treatments from dermatologists, the newspaper said.
The Washington Health Department had ordered He to stop administering treatments in 2006. She was arrested by federal agents on Aug. 25 for unlicensed cosmetic treatment practices, the Reporter said.
