ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Authorities in Orange County, Fla., said they arrested two brothers, ages 10 and 12, for allegedly participating in dogfighting activities.
The Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel said Thursday the two pre-teen brothers, whose identities were not released, were accused by the Orange County Sheriff's Office of cruelty to animals and fighting and baiting animals.
Authorities allege a sheriff's deputy responding to a dogfighting report found a dead dog in a home Wednesday, along with several injured canines.
While the deputy was at the house, one of the two young suspects allegedly grabbed a puppy that ran from the home and repeatedly struck the animal with his closed fists.
The deputy maintains one of the suspects also admitted to taking part in dogfighting activities.
"We see dog fighting on YouTube, so we just do it," one of the suspects was quoted as saying.
The Sentinel said the boys' mother, whose identity was also not released, told the deputy her two young sons needed to be arrested for their alleged crimes.
"I'm sick of them two stealing dogs, bikes and having all the neighborhood coming by here looking to us," the woman was quoted as saying.
