Police: Prostitute left baby alone in car

TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Authorities in Hillsborough County, Fla., allege a woman left her infant alone in a vehicle so she could go have sex in exchange for money.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Debbie Carter said while Latosha Yeadon was allegedly having sex with a male client in an apartment complex Thursday, a maintenance worker noticed the child locked inside a sport utility vehicle, The St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times reported.

Carter said the worker forced one of the vehicle's windows down and freed the 3-month-old unidentified child.

"We were very lucky that it was a nice day and not one of our usual hot, Florida days," Carter said of the rescue of the infant, whose condition after being freed was not mentioned.

Authorities arrested Yeadon, 30, and charged her with aggravated child abuse, aggravated child neglect, prostitution and contributing to the dependency of a child.

The Times said Yeadon faced prostitution charges on three occasions in 2008.
