KENT, Wash., Jan. 14 (UPI) -- A Washington state man who spent weeks online scouting out mail-order brides before killing his wife has been sent to prison for 30 years, court records show.
Tracy Floren of Kent was sentenced Wednesday in King County Superior Court. He was found guilty of first-degree murder last month in the Sept. 2, 2007, death of Nancy Floren, 56, who was shot in the head in a killing set up to look like a burglary, The Seattle Times reported.
Authorities said Floren's alibi of being at a substance-abuse meeting at the time of the killing didn't pan out.
Nancy Floren, who had been chief financial officer of Husky Trucks, International, had feared her husband's drinking would destroy their future, friends and relatives said.
Police found in the weeks before Nancy Floren's death, Tracy Floren had been scouring Web sites seeking sexual liaisons and mail-order bride information.
