NEW YORK, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Amtrak says rail service at Penn Station in New York was restored Wednesday after being halted for nearly three hours by a power problem.
Some additional delays were expected over the course of the day as service returned to normal along the Northeastern routes, Amtrak said in a written statement.
The trouble began around 8:45 a.m. EST with a power outage at the Manhattan station. Commuter trains from Long Island and New Jersey were also affected.
Amtrak said the issue did not stall any trains in tunnels and did not affect the heat and lights aboard the trains. The cause of the outage was under investigation.
