Billionaire sex offender settles lawsuits

PALM BEACH, Fla., Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Billionaire Florida sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has settled two suits, one filed by a woman who claimed she was his sex slave at age 15, documents indicate.

Documents filed in U.S. District Court in Miami indicate that the lawsuit involving the 15-year-old, brought in May, was dismissed Dec. 8 with prejudice by Judge Kenneth Marra, meaning it cannot be refiled, while a second woman's suit alleging sexual abuse by Epstein was also dismissed the same day, the Palm Beach (Fla.) Daily News reported Tuesday.

The first plaintiff, known as Jane Doe 102, claimed in her suit that Epstein sent a female friend to entice her into quitting her job as a changing room assistant at the Mar-a-Lago Country Club in Palm Beach in 1998 when she was 15, later requiring her to engage in sex acts with him and other women, including other minors.

The second suit was filed by a woman who said Epstein enticed her to give him a sexual massage when she was 17.

The Daily News said Epstein, 56, was released from jail in July after serving less than 13 months of his 18-month sentence for procuring a minor for prostitution and soliciting prostitution.
