WASHINGTON, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- The U.S. economy is the topic of discussion for President Obama and members of the financial industry when they meet on financial lending and economic recovery
Other topics Obama was expected to discuss Monday include several points he's been advocating in recent weeks -- small business lending, improved lending practices for home owners and the administration's plans for financial reform, the White House said.
After Obama meets with financial industry members, he will issue a statement on the economy, the White House said.
Obama also was to meet with Lebanese President Michel Sleiman in the Oval Office in the afternoon.
