HAMILTON, Ontario, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is booked to speak at a hospital fundraiser in Hamilton, Ontario, for $200,000, organizers said.

The 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee dubbed a "pit bull with lipstick" was booked to speak April 15 at a $200 per plate dinner for the Juravinski Cancer Center and St. Peter's Hospital in the city 40 miles west of Toronto, the Hamilton Spectator reported Friday.

One of the event organizers, Gabe Macaluso, told the newspaper getting Palin was "quite the coup." He said demand for her through the Washington Speakers Bureau "is huge."

Palin recently joined the bureau, which also represents former U.S. President George W. Bush.

Macaluso said it's hoped 1,000 tickets will be sold to cover Palin's fee and the bulk of the funds for the hospitals would come from guests paying to have their photographs taken with her.

Palin had a resurgence of publicity with the Nov. 17 release of her memoir "Going Rogue," which sold 1 million copies in its first two weeks, the report said.
