Kilpatrick, 39, is required to pay the city of Detroit $1 million in restitution as part of a 2008 plea deal on charges of obstruction of justice and assault.
The former mayor was also sentenced to four years probation as part of the plea deal and Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy alleges Kilpatrick violated his parole by not declaring all of his finances.
Worthy intends to file a probation violation motion against the former mayor that could result in Kilpatrick serving the remainder of maximum five-year prison term, The Detroit News said.
"We believe the record established numerous instances where the defendant violated the terms and conditions of his probation as it relates to court-ordered disclosures and the payment of restitution," Worthy said in a statement.
