TACOMA, Wash., Dec. 10 (UPI) -- The sister of the alleged killer of four police officers in Lakewood, Wash., has been charged with helping her brother get away, authorities say.
LaTanya Clemmons, 34, pleaded not guilty in Tacoma Wednesday to four counts of rendering criminal assistance in the first degree in the Nov. 29 coffee shop rampage. The judge, calling her a flight risk, ordered her held under $1.5 million bond.
Maurice Clemmons, 37, eluded police for nearly two days until he was shot and killed Dec. 1 by a Seattle police officer.
LaTanya Clemmons was accused of helping to hide the man who allegedly drove her brother to the area where the shootings took place, The Seattle Times reported.
She is one of five relatives and two friends of the accused gunman similarly charged.
