HOUSTON, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- A Mexican teenager was brought illegally to Houston and forced into sexual slavery, federal investigators say.
Jorge Texis-Montano, 24, and Jorge Aguila-Cuapio, 19, pleaded guilty to conspiring to bring the 15-year-old girl into the country from Mexico for prostitution, prosecutors told Tuesday's Houston Chronicle. Sonia Tecuapacho-Tecuapacho, 24, pleaded guilty to keeping the girl in her apartment.
All three have been held without bail. Texis was given a 30-month sentence, and Aguila three years.
Both the men were in the United States illegally, investigators said. They can expect to be deported when they are released from prison.
Tecuapacho was sentenced to time served.
The investigation began when someone called Houston police April 28 and said the 15-year-old victim was being confined in an apartment against her will. The tipster said the girl was forced to sell herself in Houston bars.
