WASHINGTON, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- The chief of staff for U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., said the senator's daughter was carjacked in Washington by two male suspects.

WUSA-TV, Washington, reported Thursday that Corker's chief of staff, Todd Womack, confirmed that Corker's daughter, Julia, was carjacked Wednesday night and two suspects are already in custody.

The 22-year-old daughter of the Tennessee senator was allegedly forced out of her sport utility vehicle by one of the suspects.

Following the carjacking, the younger Corker contacted the police and her father. The two suspects were later apprehended and the senator's daughter identified the individuals.

Womack said Julia Corker was not injured in the incident except for a sore neck and did not visit the hospital.

The stolen sport utility vehicle was also recovered overnight, WUSA reported.
