Sowell detectives search E. Cleveland home

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- The FBI says it removed some items of potential interest Wednesday from a home in East Cleveland where accused mass-murderer Anthony Sowell once lived.

No remains were discovered at the residence on Page Avenue, although East Cleveland police accompanied the federal agents in the search because of an old missing-person case.

The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer said detectives are re-examining the cold-case investigation of Mary Cox, who worked at a nearby bar prior to her disappearance in 1989.

Sowell, who is suspected of killing 11 women -- he has been charged in five of the deaths -- in the Cleveland area, lived on Page Avenue until he was arrested in a sexual assault.
