DALLAS, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Former U.S. President George W. Bush disagrees with plenty that his successor is doing, but refuses to openly criticize him, friends say.
Citing unnamed friends and political allies, the New York Daily News reported Sunday that Bush will keep holding his tongue over his disagreement with President Barack Obama.
"He's not pleased with the policies he's watching," said some described as a longtime Bush counselor.
Another person the Daily News described as a "Bush insider" added: "He's not happy with the direction of what's happening in Washington, but he's not gonna get worked up about it publicly. He feels like he had his time (in office)."
The newspaper said Bush and former first lady Laura Bush have settled into comfortable, semi-retired lifestyle and intend to stay out of the spotlight. It reported that Bush is earning "megabucks" by giving lectures and enjoys throwing private dinners for friends at his Dallas home.
