SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Two bodies found in California's Bodega Bay are believed to be a pair of crab fishermen who disappeared Thanksgiving Day, the Coast Guard said.
A Coast Guard spokesman said the first body was discovered by a pedestrian walking along the shore near Westside Regional Park, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Friday.
The second body was found in the same area Thursday afternoon, said spokesman Jeremy Pichette.
Pichette said the two men had launched their 20-foot boat from Bodega Harbor early Thursday morning to go crab fishing.
After they failed to return, the U.S. Coast Guard, National Park Service and Sonoma County Sheriff's deputies searched for the fishermen.
Pichette said waves were 10- to 12-feet high when the search began.
