Reaction: Public release of Palin's memoir

WASHINGTON, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Just 28 percent of U.S. residents think former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is qualified to be president, a national poll suggests.

Those interviewed said Palin was the least qualified of five potential presidential candidates, said the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Monday.

In descending order, those seen as most presidential in the poll were Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden, both Democrats, and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Palin, all Republicans, CNN reported.

"The perception that Palin is not qualified to be president puts her significantly behind two potential rivals for the GOP nomination in 2012 -- Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee," CNN Polling Director Keating Holland said.

The poll was released a day before Palin's book, "Going Rogue: An American Life" officially went on sale. The telephone survey was conducted Nov. 13-15 with 1,014 adults and had a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
