Mother charged in disappearance of girl

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- The mother of a 5-year-old girl who disappeared in North Carolina allegedly allowed her daughter to be taken to be used for "sexual servitude," police said.

The girl, Shaniya Davis, who has been missing since Tuesday, has not been found, police said.

Her mother, Antoinette Nicole Davis, 25, was arrested Saturday on charges of human trafficking, felony child abuse, prostitution, filing a false police report and resisting, delaying or obstructing justice, The Fayetteville (N.C.) Observer reported Sunday.

Arrest documents said Davis "knowingly provide(d) Shaniya Davis with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude," the newspaper reported.

Davis had reported Tuesday morning that her daughter was abducted from her mobile home in Fayetteville.

Mario Andrette McNeill, 29, who police say admitted kidnapping Shaniya, turned himself in Friday. He was being held on $100,000 bond, WTVD-TV, Raleigh, N.C., reported.

Shaniya's father, Bradley Lockhart, held a news conference Thursday night, begging whoever had taken her to return her.

"Shaniya, if you are listening to daddy -- I miss you so much -- I'm not going to give up," Lockhart said.

Police said Saturday that Davis's initial report led to the Wednesday arrest of Clarence D. Coe, 30. After McNeill turned himself in, the charges were dropped against Coe, who said he plans legal action against the police department.
