FAIRFIELD, Ill., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Authorities in Wayne County, Ill., said an 18-month-old boy died after getting his head trapped in a recliner.
Wayne County Sheriff Jim Hinkle told the Evansville (Ind.) Courier and Press that attempts to revive young Hunter Woolever on Friday were unsuccessful after he was found in his family's Wayne City home.
Hinkle said Woolever's parents, Amber and Curtis, thought the child was sleeping in the recliner as they prepared to depart for work Friday.
The child's babysitter later checked on him and discovered his head had become trapped in the recliner, Hinkle said.
"This appears to be nothing more than a very tragic accident," the sheriff told the Courier and Press. "The coroner and state police helped in the investigation, but there appears to be no foul play, just a terribly tragic accident."
