Security guard Kevin White, 43, was shooting into the crowd in the bar before police shot him, officials said. Police also shot a 19-year-old man, who they said had stood in a doorway holding a pistol.

Witnesses said police identified themselves before shooting.

White was pronounced dead at a hospital, the newspaper said. The 19-year-old man, whose name was not reported, was said to be in stable condition at a hospital.

White had been arrested 28 times, including five times for gun-related offenses, police said, but the outcome of those arrests was not known, the Times reported.
