WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama has fulfilled the expectations of about half of Americans, but hasn't shed some negative labels, an Angus Reid poll indicates.
In the online survey, 48 percent of respondents said Obama has performed about as they expected, while 36 percent said they thought Obama was worse and 12 percent responded he was better, the results released Thursday indicated.
Three-in-five Democrats -- 61 percent -- said Obama fulfilled their expectations while nearly the same proportion of Republicans said they thought the president underperformed.
Another 46 percent said they thought it was too early to judge Obama's performance as president, while 10 percent said he accomplished a lot in his first year in the White House. About 40 percent of Americans said they thought Obama has done little so far.
The online survey among 1,011 adults was conducted Nov. 4-5. The margin of error is 3.1 percentage points.
