FLOWER MOUND, Texas, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Police are looking for a 20-year-old man they say is a "person of interest" in the killing of his 16-year-old suburban Dallas girlfriend.
Brittany Munoz, was found by her 19-year-old sister dead in their apartment in Flower Mound, Texas,Tuesday afternoon. Her boyfriend, Garrett Cole Gower, had stayed at the apartment Monday night and early Tuesday -- something "he did on a regular basis," police Capt. Wess Griffin told the Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram.
Gower disappeared Tuesday and police said they believed he was driving a 2009 silver, four-door Honda Civic with Texas license plates.
Brittany Munoz was found "lying in bed on her back with the covers pulled up to her chin," a police search-warrant affidavit stated. She appeared to have blunt-trauma head wounds, the affidavit said.
A weapon was found, but police would provide no other details, the Star-Telegram said.
A flier in the apartment complex said police "wanted to make it clear to us that the ongoing investigation indicated that this was not a random act of violence but what appears to be a crime associated with family violence."
