LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Curtis Lavelle Vance was sentenced Thursday to life in prison without parole for the slaying of Little Rock, Ark., TV anchor Anne Pressly.

Vance was convicted Wednesday of capital murder, rape, residential burglary and theft of property. He faced either life without parole or execution, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.

Pressly, 26, was found raped and beaten in her home in October 2008 and died five days later.

She was a morning news anchor on CNN affiliate KATV-TV, Little Rock.

Vance, 29, pleaded innocent but prosecutors linked him to the crime through DNA evidence. Vance has also been connected through DNA evidence to an April 2008 rape in Marianna, Ark., about 90 miles east of Little Rock, police said.
