MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- No one was hurt when a private airplane landed at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport without any landing gear, an airport spokesman said.

Airport spokesman Pat Hogan said the emergency landing by the King Air twin-engine turbo prop Wednesday night did close two of the airport's runways for more than four hours, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported Thursday.

Hogan said because the landing occurred late Wednesday night, the runway closures did not cause any significant flight delays at the airport.

The airplane, which carried an unidentified pilot and co-pilot, made a successful belly landing at the airport. While firefighters were on hand for the crash, no fires ensued due to the landing.

The Star Tribune reported the pilot contacted air traffic controllers at the airport of the emergency situation prior to the landing.
