HILLSBORO, Ore., Nov. 11 (UPI) -- A judge in Oregon said he would not grant bail to a woman accused of killing a pregnant woman and cutting the fetus from the victim's abdomen.

The (Portland) Oregonian reported Washington County Circuit Judge Don Letourneau ruled Tuesday Korena Elaine Roberts will remain jailed until her trial next May for the June 5 slaying of Heather Snively, 21, and the abduction of her infant son.

Authorities allege after Roberts, 28, and Snively met on the Internet site Craigslist, Roberts killed the pregnant woman and cut open her abdomen to remove the unborn child.

The child, named John Stephen by Snively, could not be revived after the incident.

Autopsy results showed Snively suffered head injuries, multiple bites, cuts and bruises.

Authorities said Snively's body was found the night of her death in a crawl space in a home shared by Roberts and her boyfriend, Yan Shubin.

The Oregonian said Roberts gave birth to a stillborn child in 2007. She has two other children, ages 6 and 11.
