WASHINGTON, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- The U.S. House, having passed its healthcare reform bill, revised its schedule for the rest of 2009, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said Wednesday.

"As action on health insurance reform legislation moves to the Senate, the House is updating its schedule for November and December to reflect that, and to ensure there is time to complete our work on other important issues," Hoyer, a Maryland Democrat, said in a release.

The House expects to be in session next week before breaking for two weeks starting Nov. 23 for Thanksgiving. The House will return and be in session for two weeks beginning Dec. 7, he said.

"The House could also be in session on Monday, Dec. 21, and Tuesday, Dec. 22, if needed," Hoyer said.
