NEW YORK, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- A New York bus driver who struck and killed a college student had made comments on Facebook about suicide and homicide, sources told the New York Daily News.
Jeremy Philhower was on his first day back from a suspension after a passenger complained he had been texting while driving when he hit Seth Kahn last week. The sources said officials at the Metropolitan Transit Authority learned of the Facebook posting during the suspension.
Philhower has not been charged with Kahn's death. A witness said Kahn was running across the street.
Philhower's postings suggest troubling thoughts and attitudes.
"Thinking about how many people I want to kill today, including myself," Philhower wrote on Facebook, sources told the News.
Another post suggests Philhower is delusional.
"They revere me as God," he said, according to the sources. "Even though I hate them, they still love me."
When he was suspended, Philhower admitted texting but said he only did it when the bus was stopped. An arbitrator ordered him returned to work.
Kahn, 22, of Mamaroneck, N.Y., was studying toy design at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
