WALTERBORO, S.C., Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Police in South Carolina say they are looking for a drive-by shooter who killed three people, including a 20-month-old girl, and wounded five more.

Charles Kittrell, 45, of Walterboro died Monday night in the front yard of his home, and his daughter and Christopher Powell, 21, also of Walterboro, both died at a hospital, The (Charleston) Post and Courier reported Tuesday.

The newspaper did not identified the five injured victims.

"When I walked out the door, I knew (Shaniya) was dead. The baby was on the ground," said Bessie Kittrell, 69, Charles' mother.

Powell was the father of a 6-month-old boy, said Ella Adams, Bessie Kittrell's sister.

Walterboro police Maj. Ken Dasen said authorities were looking for a black BMW with one headlight out, and that the shooting was under investigation.
