OKLAHOMA CITY, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Four people died in a house fire Monday in Oklahoma City, authorities said.

An official said fire department personnel notified the police department's homicide unit when the victims were found, The Oklahoman reported.

"Once inside they started discovering this was a fatality fire," Police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said. "That's when they notified our homicide unit."

Knight said protocol called for homicide detectives to investigate a fatal fire, but it was too early to tell whether the fire was suspicious in origin.
