SYRACUSE, N.Y., Nov. 3 (UPI) -- A Syracuse, N.Y., man allegedly suspended a kitten to a door with a belt, then videotaped it struggling, police said.

Rascell Williams, 22, was arrested and charged with unjustifiable animal cruelty, a misdemeanor.

The videotape showed the 4-month-old kitten suspended from the door of an apartment with the belt around its neck, The (Syracuse) Post-Standard reported Monday.

Williams' live-in girlfriend, Joanne Cichy, couldn't find the cat when she came home on Halloween, but found the videotape the next day, the newspaper said.

The kitten was found alive under a porch with "injuries consistent with what was seen in the video," police said.
