OLD MONROE, Mo., Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Authorities in Lincoln County, Mo., said an employee at an area haunted house could face charges for shooting off a handgun during a performance.
Lincoln County sheriff's detective Shayne Duryea said while the firearm used in the recent performance was loaded with blanks, the employee tripped and accidentally fired the .45-caliber gun at a 19-year-old co-worker, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch said Sunday.
The second worker suffered an injury to his arm after a part of the blank discharged from the weapon, Duryea said.
The Post-Dispatch said the worker injured in Friday's incident, which was reportedly witnessed by multiple customers, is expected to fully recover.
The identities of the workers, as well as what possible charges the shooting suspect could face, were not reported.
