CLEVELAND, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Cleveland police said Friday they were searching for a registered sex offender in connection with the discovery of two decomposed bodies.
The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer said police sought Anthony E. Sowell, 50, who was convicted of rape in 1989.
The bodies were found Thursday in a Cleveland home, where Sowell lived.
Authorities said an apparent freshly dug grave also was discovered.
Officers went to the home to arrest Sowell for a September incident and discovered the bodies, the Plain Dealer report said.
In the September incident, Sowell had been seen by witnesses chasing a naked woman who had fled from the home, authorities said.
County records indicate Sowell's aunt and uncle, whose identities were not reported, own the property.
Police said one of the bodies could be that of Nancy Cobbs, a 43-year-old local woman who was reported missing last month.
"I have no way to describe how I feel," Cobbs's daughter, Kyana Hunt, said. "I want closure."
