SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- An alleged white supremacist facing a potential 30-year prison sentence was arrested Tuesday in Salt Lake City after a car and foot chase, police said.

Investigators say Brock Case, 34, is a member of Silent Aryan Warriors, The Salt Lake Tribune reported. The gang originated in Utah State Prison.

Police allegedly found a stolen weapon and 1,000 rounds of ammunition in a search of his home this month. He was arrested and then released, becoming a fugitive when a federal hold order was issue.

"He's facing up to 30 years in federal prison and knows that he was facing that and obviously didn't want to go back," Sgt. Lex Bell told KSL-TV, Salt Lake City.

A detective spotted Case's vehicle at about 2:45 a.m. The car chase ended when police used spikes to puncture his tires, and the pursuit continued on foot.

"We were able to chase him down without incident or injury and arrest him. He gave up once we got him cornered," Bell said.
