POCOPSON, Pa., Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Two dogs reported missing in Chester County, Pa., during the weekend were found shot to death, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said.

Luna and Emma -- a pair of German short-haired pointer mixes -- had been reported missing from a home in Pocopson and were found a few miles away near train tracks in Pennsbury, WTXF, Philadelphia, reported Monday.

The animals had been laid tail-to-tail, Rich Britton of the Chester County SPCA said.

A $500 reward was being offered for information leading to an arrest, the report said.
