NEW YORK, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- A North Korean delegation has arrived in the United States with rumors swirling it will meet with U.S. officials on restarting nuclear talks, observers say.
The delegation's leader, Ri Gun, wouldn't reveal to reporters at JFK Airport in New York Friday if such talks were planned, the South Korean news agency Yonhap reported.
"I will tell you later," he said. "I came here to attend seminars and exchange opinions. I have just stepped in (the United States) and I'd better discuss later when I return after finishing talks."
Asked whether he would meet in New York with Sung Kim, U.S. special envoy for the stalled six-party denuclearization talks, Ri said, "As I am here, I am supposed to move in accordance with the schedules they made."
Yonhap said Ri is expected to meet with Sung in San Diego and New York on the sidelines of seminars there.
U.S. State Department spokesman Ian Kelly told the news agency no decisions had been made on who will represent the United States in the seminars.
