INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- A Future Farmers of America representative says a 16-year-old Texas student is in critical condition after falling 41 feet at an Indianapolis shopping mall.

FFA representative Julie Adams said in honor of Philip Caler, participants at this week's National FFA Convention in Indianapolis will be asked to keep the injured teen in their thoughts, The Indianapolis Star said Friday.

"This group is very close and tightly bonded," Adams said. "We are hearing from folks who aren't even at the convention -- chapters who were not able to attend, taking the time to post to our Web site and Facebook, letting us know they are praying for Phillip and their family."

The teen from Booker, Texas, fell from the top of an escalator Thursday afternoon at Circle Center Mall.

Sgt. Paul Thompson, spokesman for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, told the Star the teen is thought to have lost his balance while sitting on a railing.

Specific details regarding the teen's injuries were not reported.
