Minor crash injures 14 on NYC PATH train

NEW YORK, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Officials say about 14 people were hurt in New York City Wednesday when a commuter trained banged into an end-of-the-line bumper.

Injuries aboard the PATH train were described as minor and included the conductor and train operator, the New York Post said.

The incident occurred around 8:15 a.m. EDT at the 33rd Street station when the train, which left Hoboken, N.J., around 8 a.m., rolled into the large bumper at the end of the tracks.

A spokesman for the Port Authority described the contact to Newsday as a "bump" and said it was not clear how fast the train was traveling at the time.
