SLIDELL, La., Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Former Seattle Seahawks safety Terreal Bierria has been charged with murder in Louisiana, authorities said.

Bierria, 29, who played for the Seahawks in 2002 and 2004, after playing college football for the University of Georgia, was charged with the death of Soron Salter, 29, of Slidell, La.

Salter was found dead in a home where there were signs of a violent struggle, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said Tuesday.

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain told the newspaper Bierria's car had been seen at the crime scene, and Bierria had sought treatment at a hospital for cuts on his hands and arms.

Bierria was a two-year starter at Georgia and was the 120th overall selection in the 2002 NFL draft.
