BALTIMORE, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- A Baltimore man sentenced to 15 years in prison for biting off part of a former's girlfriend's nose told the court his "biggest fear" is it could happen again.
Charles Bowers, 24, pleaded guilty to first- and second-degree assault following a 2008 argument about house keys.
"I've been a victim of my emotions since I was six," he told the court. "My biggest fear is that it may possibly happen again."
The judge entered a recommendation that Bowers submit to psychiatric evaluation and treatment, and be permitted to be incarcerated at a correctional mental health facility, The Baltimore Sun reported Tuesday.
The woman, whose name had been withheld, said she is traumatized by the incident. She has undergone three plastic surgeries and said she needs more but cannot afford them, the newspaper said.
