Dog killed by bee swarm in Florida

WESTON, Fla., Oct. 13 (UPI) -- A dog left tied to a tree in Weston, Fla., was killed Tuesday by a swarm of bees, apparently after it disturbed their hive, fire rescue workers said.

The dog's owner had secured the 6-year-old beagle to a palm tree, and when he checked later, it was dead with the swarm of bees still around it, The Miami Herald reported.
